Heavy rainfall is again causing impacts on the transport network in northeast NSW, with numerous critical corridors closed due to flooding. This is predominantly affecting cross-border movements between Sydney and Brisbane, not local deliveries.
An update from the NSW government yesterday advised crews are onsite assessing the situation on affected roads. [They] will reopen roads when the water recedes, and the roads can be safely assessed.
In the meantime, freight moving between Sydney and Brisbane will need to use the New England Highway until further notice.
Impacted roads are listed below:
- Pacific Highway – West Ballina
- Summerland Way – Leeville and Sandy Creek
- Gwydir Highway – Gibraltar Range
- Waterfall Way – Raleigh to Dorrigo
- Bangalow Road – Bangalow to Bexhill
- Bruxner Highway – east of Uralba
