We have received notice of an eight day strike action planned at the Port of Felixstowe, commencing on Sunday 21st August.
The latest talks to reach a pay deal agreement unfortunately failed and it is looking increasingly likely that strike action will take place later this month.
Felixstowe port is the largest port in the UK, handling more than 4million TEU’s each year, so if the strike does go ahead it will cause major disruption to supply chains. With European ports already congested, it will be extremely difficult for shipping lines to provide viable alternatives.
We will provide further updates should this strike go ahead.
