We would like to inform you about the current situation affecting our operations in Victoria and Sydney due to severe weather conditions. High winds are causing disruptions at several depots and terminals. Below is a summary of the impact and updates from each location:
Victoria:
- Depot Closures: OCS, DP World Logistics, Allied Container Services, and Victorian Container Management (VCM) have suspended operations due to safety concerns caused by high winds. VCM will remain closed until further notice, while Allied Container Services will reopen at 6 am on 29/08/2024.
- Terminal Operations: While all three container terminals remain operational, turnaround times are slower due to the adverse weather conditions. DP World has paused operations temporarily, and all drivers currently inside the terminal must remain in place until their bookings can be completed.
- Empty Container Management: Many empty parks have reduced capabilities or are closing to ensure the safety of staff and drivers. Silk and other carriers will continue to manage empty containers as best as possible, but we cannot be held responsible for any detention charges resulting from the reduced capacity or closures.
Sydney:
- Depot and Terminal Closures: Cargo Link has closed its operations immediately due to high winds and is expected to reopen later today. Additionally, Tyne MT Movements may experience intermittent closures.
- DP World Port Botany: Operations for specific time slots (1100 and 1200) have been cancelled for today, with a review of further time slots pending as conditions evolve.
- ACFS e-Depot: The ACFS e-Depot is also monitoring the situation closely, with potential intermittent closures expected. All inquiries regarding specific delays or updates can be directed to the respective depots.
We encourage all customers to remain in contact with their designated customer service representative for the latest updates.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
