AKL PORT/DEHIRE OPERATIONS
- Vessels are bunched and moreover arrive in the weekend. There is an influx of carriers on a Monday and Tuesday with wait times between 1-2 hours
- Pre booking containers 2-3 days out to dehire and then parks cancelling bookings with short notice to redirect however the shipping line has not put through acceptance to the redirected container park. Carriers are having to hub and store empty containers until there acceptance is in place. Next available bookings are 3-4 days out. Which further uses up the free detention days which customers and carriers are susceptible to pay.
