Ports of Auckland Incident

It is with great sadness that we inform you of reports of a fatal accident at the Ports of Auckland.

Emergency services rushed to the scene after an incident was reported at about 9.23 am.

At this stage, operations have not been affected but delays should be expected, potentially for the rest of the week.

While POAL has not yet sent official notice, the most recent update from Stuff indicates the incident happened in the general port area, not the container terminal.

We will keep you updated should the port announce any closures, or other operational impacts arise.

This is devastating news and our thoughts are with the family of the worker. We thank you for your understanding during this sad time.

COIVD-19 China [UPDATE]

Shanghai continues to report record-high numbers of COVID-19, with new cases sitting around 20,000 per day. It is looking unlikely the city’s lockdown will end anytime in April, however, there has been speculation the government is aiming for a slow reopening from early May with continuing area management until case numbers are back to zero.

Further to our last alert published on the 11th of April, a quick overview of updated operational impacts in Shanghai and other affected regions can be found HERE.
