Further to our previous advisory, we want to provide you with the latest updates on operational changes at the Port of Brisbane due to Tropical Cyclone Alfred.

Key Updates:

  • Vessel Movements Suspended: Maritime Safety Queensland (MSQ) has suspended inbound vessel arrivals due to heavy swells. Outbound transits were completed this morning, and no shipping movements are expected from Wednesday evening through Friday, with a potential port closure on Thursday and Friday.
  • Terminal Operations:
    • Patrick: Imports continue as normal today and tomorrow (Day Shift), but import collection will close after the Day Shift on 4 March 2025. Exports remain suspended.
    • DP World: Imports will now cease earlier than previously advised—operations will stop at 15:00 on 4 March 2025. Exports remain suspended.
    • Hutchison Ports & AAT: Imports continue today but are expected to close by the end of 4 March 2025. Exports remain suspended.
  • Empty Container Parks: Several facilities have already ceased operations due to safety concerns. Customers are encouraged to check directly with service providers.

At this stage, terminal operations are expected to resume on Saturday, 8 March 2025, subject to weather conditions.

The Port of Brisbane has confirmed there will be no changes to landside access at Fisherman Islands or other precincts, but all businesses have been advised to follow their own severe weather preparedness plans.

We appreciate your patience and will continue to provide updates as more information becomes available. Please reach out to your local representative with any questions or concerns.
