Further to our previous updates, we have received additional information regarding operational changes at the Port of Brisbane due to Tropical Cyclone Alfred.

Key Updates:

  • Vessel Movements Suspended:
    • Maritime Safety Queensland (MSQ) has suspended all inbound vessel arrivals, with shipping movements expected to cease after the departure of the Pacific Encounter cruise ship this afternoon.
    • Tug operations will cease from midday Wednesday, remaining on emergency standby until normal operations resume.
    • Business-as-usual vessel priorities will be assessed upon expected resumption on Saturday, 8 March 2025.
  • Terminal Closures & Operations:
    • Patrick:
      • Imports closing from the completion of Day Shift today, 4 March 2025. Customers should arrange collection within available slots.
      • Exports remain suspended.
    • DP World:
      • Imports will cease at 15:00 today, 4 March 2025. Terminal operations are expected to resume Saturday, 8 March 2025, at 07:00, pending safety clearance.
      • Exports remain suspended.
    • Hutchison Ports:
      • Imports will be closed from Wednesday, 5 March, to Friday, 7 March 2025. A review will be conducted on Friday, 7 March, to determine if landside operations can restart at 06:00 on Saturday, 8 March 2025.
      • Exports remain suspended.
    • AAT:
      • Imports continue as normal for now but are expected to close at the end of today, 4 March 2025.
      • Exports remain suspended.
  • Empty Container Parks:
    • Several empty container parks have already ceased operations due to safety concerns. We recommend liaising with relevant service providers to assess potential disruptions.
  • Port Access:
    • The Port of Brisbane has confirmed that landside access to Fisherman Islands and other precincts remains unchanged.
    • Port businesses should implement their severe weather preparedness plans and adhere to State and Local Government emergency directives.

At this stage, terminal operations are expected to resume on Saturday, 8 March 2025, subject to weather conditions.
