Further to our earlier broadcast regarding operations in NSW, we would like to inform you of recent terminal and depot closures in Melbourne due to extreme weather conditions. The high winds overnight have led to several operational disruptions that may impact your cargo movements.
Current Situation:
- VICT and DP World Terminals: Both terminals were closed overnight due to high winds and reopened at 6:00 am this morning, 2nd September 2024. The extreme weather conditions continue to affect operations and may lead to further closures throughout the day.
- DP World Melbourne: due to the currently experienced high winds there has been a significant number of boxes blown over, making 1/3 of DP Worlds Yard inaccessible to straddle cranes. The situation is being assessed and updated will be advised once known.
- ACFS Webb Dock: The ACFS Webb Dock depot has also been closed until further notice due to high winds. All empty parks may experience disruptions as a result.
Impact on Operations:
- Potential Delays: The adverse weather conditions could lead to delays and cancellations. Please be prepared for possible interruptions in service.
- Container Management: We will closely monitor the empty container movements and maintain communication with shipping lines to manage any potential delays or changes in schedules.
- Rescheduling: Our Customer Service team will be in touch with you should any container movements require rescheduling.
Safety Measures:
- In light of the extreme wind warning issued by the Bureau of Meteorology, all landside gates will close at midnight (00:00) tonight and are scheduled to reopen tomorrow morning at 5:45 am for 6:00 am.
We will continue to monitor the situation, and as always, we will notify you of any impacted deliveries. Thank you for your continued support and understanding.
