In addition to the Melbourne AFL Grand Final public holiday on Friday 23rd, Thursday 22nd has been declared for the National Day of Mourning for Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth ll. We wish to inform you that all Australian ports will be operating over this period with vessel availability falling between Thursday the 22nd through to and inclusive of Sunday the 25th of September.
Given the above, some carriers will be providing wharf cartage services during this time to assist our clients, where possible, to minimize wharf storage.
To cover the additional costs associated with running shifts across weekends and/or public holidays, a surcharge of $190 per container will be applicable for any terminal collection/client delivery performed during this time.
Furthermore, we anticipate that during this time, empty parks will either provide heavily reduced operating hours or be closed. Whilst every effort will be made to de-hire empty containers within the free period, we will not be liable for any detention incurred.
Please note that shipping lines generally include weekends and public holidays as a part of the free day period.
