VICT Terminal has announced the implementation of new discrepancy fees, effective 1st June 2023, in line with the Victorian Department of Transport Voluntary Pricing Protocol. The two fees are the VGM Weight Discrepancy Fee and Reefer Temperature Discrepancy Fee, which aim to ensure compliance with standards for container weights and reefer temperatures.
The VGM Weight Discrepancy Fee will be applied to containers determined by the Pondus Stand to have a weight variance greater than 1 metric tonne within the documented VGM. Shippers are responsible for ensuring accurate documentation of container weight before loading or discharging. This fee will be payable by the transport operator on imports and the shipping line on exports.
Similarly, the Reefer Temperature Discrepancy Fee will apply to Reefer Containers with a temperature variance greater than 3 degrees Celsius from the temperature provided to the terminal on the PRA. This fee will be payable by the transport operator on imports and the shipping line on exports.
