Further to our notice issued on 3 Oct, we understand the current situation to be as follows:
- The IFCBAA has approached senior Qantas management to identify alternative contact details/protocols, with the aim of hastening the resolution of persistent import freight release failures.
- Terminal escalations are currently limited to critical commodities, eg. human organs and remains, urgent medical, animals, AOG parts, perishables etc
- We understand Qantas latest position to be that the resumption of normal Terminal operations could take up to 2 weeks in Melbourne and Sydney and approximately 7 days in Brisbane.
- IFCBAA will continue to maintain contact with senior Qantas management and provide further updates as they come to hand.
Further updates will be shared once available. In the meantime, if you have questions or need more information, please contact your local Kerry representative.
